Having replaced the point blades on the top point we decided to build a complete "Y" point to replace a lift out section. The lift out section sort of worked but this is so much better. Just a few sleepers to install and then 100% complete.
Being a "Y" point needed a little more thinking especially in multi-gauge but the final product appears to be well received.

Chickerell Steam Rally is 2nd and 3rd July.
It is our local show and as usual we will have a strong club presence.
We will be there with our our 150 foot 7 1/4 inch gauge steam railway.
Members will also be trundling around on their miniature traction engines.
2022 a new attraction - we will also have a miniature working steam railway in the model tent.
Several members will also be exhibiting full size vintage vehicles.
If you like what you see and want to join in the fun, please ask about becoming a member of our society.

A little tool I made to clamp on and remove cones from injectors. Ream the hole to suit the cone dia. Use a slitting saw to cut the slot. Drill and tap for the clamping bolt.
Please ignore the left hand hole - it shouldn't be there - oops!

It was nice to read this earlier this morning:

Steam locomotive 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley emerges from York railway museum.

With its move to Crewe upcoming, LNER A4 No. 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley has emerged from the National Railway Museum in York.

The A4 has appeared outside the workshop at York for the first time since its boiler was lifted into place back in November 2019.

Sir Nigel Gresley is currently in a temporary semi-matt black finish which will protect the locomotive as it moves to Crewe for final overhaul work.

Once this final work is complete, the locomotive will be outshopped in BR Express Blue, as this was voted in favour of by the SNGLT membership.

A provisionally agreed programme means that we should see Sir Nigel Gresley returned to steam in Spring 2022 – subject to work being completed.

The 7 1/4" gauge tender that I have been making over the winter saw it's first outing today. It will end up going behind a large steam loco in the near future.

The lovely seat was made by Coastal Customs Upholstery on Portland, Dorset. The owner does amazing work.

During the first few months of the Covid lock-down the tracksite grass and weeds got very long. A visit on the 8th May showed a desperate need to cut the grass areas. Several hours later and the job was done.

However the track bed itself also needed desperate work.
